Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She's written 15 books, and she is co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is an writer, journalist, TV host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England together with her family around 16 years old. At Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. She was the first student non-UK to be elected president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Following her graduation, she became a prominent right-wing syndicated reporter. A few more years later she created The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political landscape. In part, her fame helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna first gained notoriety in 2003 as she stood in California's recall vote, replacing then Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna led a Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient vehicles. Forbes declared her to be the "most important women" in the media industry, placing her at 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 most important media figures in 2009. AOL, Inc. appointed her President of their media company in 2011, after they purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post was joined by the other AOL brands, including Engadget AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli, who are both journalist and management consultants. Although she had a close relationship with her father, the relationship she had to her mom shaped the remainder of her life. She showed leadership traits even in her early years. At the age of 16 her family moved to her home in United Kingdom for her higher education. In Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years, where she was the first woman to be elected the president. In 1972, she earned an honorary degree in Economics. After after graduation she became a journalist and TV host. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
